Welcome to the Rangoli website! This section gives some information about my background training and also about the type of jewellery that I love to design and make.
I began my career as a graphic designer and illustrator but after a six month trip to India in 1993, I decided that I would like to return to college to study jewellery design. A love of textiles led me to begin combining traditional jewellery techniques with textile skills. The result was a unique collection of jewellery made from very fine crochet.
I draw inspiration from many sources but I am particularly inspired by fashion, from eighteenth century couture to modern innovative designers. With an eye for colour and fine detail, I enjoy working to commission, creating pieces to complement a variety of garments. As well as specialising in a range of bridal jewellery and accessories, I also design evening-wear collections where I enjoy working with a rich palette of colour.
I have a studio and showroom in The Design Tower in Dublin. Dealing on an appointment basis only, I offers my clients a friendly and personal service. This is one of the elements of my work that I enjoy the most - meeting with clients and discussing ideas, styles and occasions! Pieces can be easily customised to match a particular fabric or colour theme that you may have. Working from the simplest form of hair or neck adornment to the more elaborately decorative pieces, each design is created to suit you, the wearer.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my site. Please get in touch if you would like to make an appointment to visit my showroom.
